UM, Capital Region Medical Group, a member of the University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join its thriving practice at UM Capital Region Hospital which includes the location at its new State of The Art Facility in Largo, MD. In addition, the CNMs provide outpatient care Midwifery Care for several outpatient medical office locations as well as its own women’s healthcare mobile unit which serves underserved populations within Maryland and DC.
The Certified Nurse Midwife provides comprehensive patient care to patients under the direction of a supervising physician, managing the complex care of the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patient. This includes admission, monitoring and reporting on patient progress and discharge planning and followthrough.
Education
- Master’s Degree- (Required)
- Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Certification / Licensure / Registration
- BLS Certification (Required)
- Maryland Certified Nurse Midwife Licensure (Required)
- Maryland CDS license (Required)
- Maryland State DEA license (Required)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Required)
- NCC EFM Certification (Required within 3 months of hire)
Experience and Skills
- 2 – 4 years Midwifery experience (Preferred)
- 0 – 1 year Ability to scrub as a first assistant on Cesarean sections (Preferred)
- 0 – 1 year Proven skills in third trimester ultrasound (Preferred)
- Required Skills: Strong Verbal Communications Skills, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Basic Computer Skills, Strong Customer Services Skills, Proven Analytical Skill
