Job Description

  1. Functions as resource for staff members, physicians, hospital employees, patients and visitors.
  2. Assigns duties to appropriate staff members to ensure smooth flow of the schedule and effective room turnover. Ensures completion of all work assignments prior to end of shift to assist with reduced length of stay initiatives. Evaluates the competency of assigned staff.
  3. Performs a variety of diagnostic radiographic procedures to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care. Uses PACS as required and when necessary processes hard copy films.
  4. Identifies each patient and reviews each patient’s requisition for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information. Records pertinent data on requisition at all times.
  5. Assesses patient condition, ensures patient safety through proper radiation safety practices and proper positioning devices.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology School.
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Registered by the ARRT and licensed by the state of Maryland.
  • CPR Certified.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience following graduation from an approved school.
