Job Description

Schedule

Full Time, Sun-Sat, Day, 5 am to 1:30 pm, rotating weekends and holidays.  May work other shifts, whenever needed.

Overview

Under moderate supervision, performs venipuncture and capillary puncture to obtain blood samples for various laboratory tests at the Medical Center and off-site facilities. Patients served include Neonate thru Adult-Geriatric.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, the candidate must have a

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • The ability to ensure the confidentiality and rights of all patient and departmental documents is required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Certification from a nationally recognized Phlebotomy Association such as ASPT or ASCP; or certification from an approved phlebotomy collegiate program preferred. 
  • Current drivers license with a good driving record required or ability to have own transportation to off-site facilities.
