Job Description

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED 

MUST BE A MARYLAND STATE CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA) OR  GERIATRIC NURSING ASSISTANT (GNA) REQUIRED. 

Basic Life Support – Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) through American Heart Association or Red Cross

FULL TIME POSITION:  7:00pm – 7:30am 3 days per week rotating weekends/holidays plus shift differential – REQUIRED HOSPITAL ORIENTATION WILL BE UP TO 2 WEEKS DURING THE DAY.

  1. Under moderate supervision, performs variety of patient care activities for patients assigned to Nursing Units.
  2. Consistent with the Annotated Code of Maryland, the Patient Care Technician I works under the delegated authority and supervision from the Registered Nurse. The following statements reflect the general duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential functions of the job and should not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements of the position. The specific job duties may be changed by the department manager with or without prior notice based on the needs of the organization.
  3. To qualify for the position, the candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent required. Candidate must have current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Maryland required. Candidate must have a current BLS certification. Telemetry and ICCU PCT must pass a basic arrhythmia exam and/or course and have the ability to recognize critical rhythms and seek intervention within six (6) months of employment.

Qualifications

PCT POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED

Maryland State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.

Basic Life Support – Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) through American Heart Association or Red Cross
