Work Schedule: Day Shift, Part Time, M-F, Varies
The Database Specialist is responsible for database integrity, compliance to NCDR standards, and collection efficiencies. This position is also responsible for upholding institutional policy on release of data, patient confidentiality and database security standards, in accordance with patient rights.
- 2 year / Associate’s Degree (Required)
- 4 year / Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
- Cardiac Registry abstraction (Preferred)
- Cardiac Electrophysiology experience (Required)
- State Registered Nurse License (Required)
MANAGES DATA INTEGRITY: Upholds institutional policy on release of data, patient confidentiality and database security standards, in accordance with patient rights. Directs and educates all involved in data entry about confidentiality policy. Assures that data is accurate and relevant for performance improvement initiatives. Provides timely information and reporting of PI data and information. Routinely assesses the integrity of PI data and information across the organization and initiate processes to resolve data issues. Maintains confidentiality of PI data and information and manages data and information consistent with the SJMC confidentiality policy.
RESPONSIBLE FOR DATABASE INTEGRITY, COMPLIANCE TO STS STANDARDS, AND COLLECTION EFFICIENCIES: Performs data input and output of the NCDR database. Data collection methods utilized to achieve 100% completed forms. Meets data entry deadlines with appropriate levels of human resources for the task; Adheres to NCDR compliance standards. Systematically verifies database with status report.
