The Klein Family Harford Crisis Center (KFHCC) is a comprehensive, trauma-informed behavioral health hub that uses innovative evidence-based modalities to serve our community. The KFHCC was created with Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations in mind in order to ameliorate the behavioral health crisis currently being experienced in Harford County, Maryland. All aspects of crisis response behavioral healthcare are offered directly by the KFHCC. Specifically, an Urgent Care Walk-In Clinic, an Outpatient Therapy/Psychiatry Clinic, and short-term Residential Crisis Beds are offered to those in need of behavioral health/substance use disorder care. In addition, targeted education is provided in the community with the goal of eliminating stigma associated with mental health and substance use disorders.
This role utilizes the nursing process to triage, direct and deliver psychiatric and mental health care to the population in the Crisis Center.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required; Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Currently licensed RN in the state of Maryland. BLS certification is required.
Two (2) years of previous nursing experience is required. Previous psychiatric nursing/mental health experience is preferred.
Ability to: a) convey effective verbal and written communications; b) follow directions; c) organize and manage time effectively setting appropriate priorities; d) to make independent decisions consistent with current policies, procedures, and nursing standards; e) perform simple mathematical functions correctly; f) adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the hospital, including all shifts; g) effectively function as a member of a collaborative team; and h) respond to emergency situations appropriately, I) perform lab draws and urine drug screen as ordered.
