Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: The position is responsible for the management of medical staff services, providing support for functions of medical staff including governance, credentialing, and communications.

Qualifications

Education & Training: Bachelor’s degree in related field required, Masters preferred. Current certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (CPMSM or CPCS), or achievement of certification within two years.

Work Orientation & Experience:  Six (6) years direct experience in medical staff credentialing and privileging required. Two (2) years’ experience in management of medical staff credentialing and privileging operations preferred. ; Solid knowledge of TJC, CMS and CoMAR medical staff standards required. Knowledge of medical terminology required.

Skills & Abilities:  (a) Able to communicate effectively with medical staff and hospital personnel; (b) able to adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of administration and the medical staff; (c) computer/word processing skills; (d) able to plan, organize and implement projects involving complex issues and personalities; (e) able to exercise good judgment; (f) able to maintain confidentiality.
