Job Description

MUST HAVE MIXING CHEMO EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. 
  2. Completion of technician training program preferred.
  3. Certified pharmacy technician preferred.
  4. Registered as Registered Pharmacy Technician with State of Maryland within six months of date of hire or transfer into the position.
  5. One – two years working experience as a pharmacy technician in an institutional setting preferred.
  6. Must have mixing chemo experience of at least 6 months and be certified.

  10. Attends hospital and departmental meetings as required or assigned.
  11. Represents the department and the function on hospital committees, professional associations, and community organizations.
  12. Participates in problem solving/decision making and performance improvement.
  13. Utilizes effective methods of communication.
  14. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, workshops, in-service meetings, etc.
  15. Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and quality assurance program, safety environmental and infection control.
  16. Assumes the role of Pharmacy Inventory Control technician/Pharmacy Pyxis technician, as needed.
