Our hope is to make our application and hiring process as easy as possible for you. Here’s what you can expect throughout the process.

RECRUITING PROCESS AT UMMS
1. Search Jobs
At University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), we have a number of opportunities for you to make an impact across our organization. Start your job search here.
2. Apply Online
When you find a job that interests you, click the Apply Now button.
3. Recruiter Screen
Recruiter assess application for minimum qualifications and conducts a phone screen with applicant if necessary.
4. Hiring Manager Review
If the application passes the recruiter screen, the application is sent to the the hiring manager/department for further review.
5. Interview(s)
If you are selected to move forward in the interview process, you will then be invited to interview with the hiring manager/department either by video or in-person.
6. Offer
If you are selected for the position, the recruiter will contact you to extend a job offer.
7. Onboarding
After the job offer is accepted, you will be contacted by your designated HR Coordinator. There are several steps in the onboarding process: background check, pre-employment health assessment, I-9 verification, etc. The HR Coordinator will walk you through the process and let you know once you are cleared to start.
8. Congratulations!
Welcome to the UMMS team! You’re all set for your first day as an UMMS Team Member.
FAQs
No, employees are not required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 or provide proof of vaccination.
These issues are often related to the computer/device you are using to apply and not the application itself. You can do a few things to ensure you don’t run into any technical issues:
1. Make sure you are using a supported web browser that is up-to-date.
2. Clear the cache/browser history for your web browser.
3. Completely shut down and reboot your computer/device.

There is a timer at the top of the application. You have 20 minutes to complete each page before it times out. You can save your progress as you go if you need longer to fill out the application. Just click the Save button at the bottom of the application.
Please refer to the email received when applying sent by notification@smartrecruiters.com. This email will contain a link to access the portal showing your current applications. There is no password to access this site, but the link is contained within the email received.
If there is a good match between your background and the job requirements, the recruiting team will contact you directly. However, the timeframe depends on the position and the number of applicants.
You can always check the status of the jobs to which you’ve successfully applied by logging into your account.

Once you’ve applied, you will receive an email with the subject ‘Thank you for applying to University of Maryland Medical System’ and will come from notifications@smartrecruiters.com. This email will confirm your application was received. You may also contact our Candidate Care Center: 1-443-675-6795.
Utilize the link within the application received email to access positions you’ve applied to and your profile.
