Our hope is to make our application and hiring process as easy as possible for you. Here’s what you can expect throughout the process.

RECRUITING PROCESS AT UMMS
1. Search Jobs
At University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), we have a number of opportunities for you to make an impact across our organization. Start your job search here.
2. Apply Online
When you find a job that interests you, click the Apply Now button.
3. Recruiter Screen
Recruiter assess application for minimum qualifications and conducts a phone screen with applicant if necessary.
4. Hiring Manager Review
If the application passes the recruiter screen, the application is sent to the the hiring manager/department for further review.
5. Interview(s)
If you are selected to move forward in the interview process, you will then be invited to interview with the hiring manager/department either by video or in-person.
6. Offer
If you are selected for the position, the recruiter will contact you to extend a job offer.
7. Onboarding
After the job offer is accepted, you will be contacted by your designated HR Coordinator. There are several steps in the onboarding process: background check, pre-employment health assessment, I-9 verification, etc. The HR Coordinator will walk you through the process and let you know once you are cleared to start.
8. Congratulations!
Welcome to the UMMS team! You’re all set for your first day as an UMMS Team Member.
FAQs
These issues are often related to the computer/device you are using to apply and not the application itself. You can do a few things to ensure you don’t run into any technical issues.
- Make sure you are using a supported web browser that is up-to-day: List of supported browsers
- Clear the cache/browser history for your web browser.
- Completely shut down and reboot your computer/device.
There is a timer at the top of the application. You have 20 minutes to complete each page before it times out. You can save your progress as you go if you need longer to fill out the application. Just click the Save button at the bottom of the application.
Please ensure you are using a supported web browser and have downloaded the most recent version. Applying with an out-of-date or unsupported browser can cause technical issues when applying. To see a list of supported browsers click HERE
If you’ve tried the “I have forgotten my password” link and you aren’t receiving the email, please check your junk/spam folder and be sure you have noreply@umm.edu added to your contact list. If you are still unable to reset your password, reach out to our HRConnections Service Center at 1-855-486-6747 to have it reset manually.
On the Career Site click on “Account Login”, and then choose “Sign In” to your account. Under “Account Information” you’ll see an option to Update Your Password. Alternately, you can choose “Forgot Password” and a password reset link will be sent to your email address.
After clicking “Account Login” at the top of the careers site, click on “Forgot your Password?” and enter your email address. You’ll be emailed a temporary password, so you can log in and reset your password.
If there is a good match between your background and the job requirements, the recruiting team will contact you directly. However, the timeframe depends on the position and the number of applicants.
You can always check the status of the jobs to which you’ve successfully applied by logging into your account.
On the Career Site, click on “Account Login”. Log into your account and you’ll be able to view all completed applications under the “Applicant Activity” section. You’ll also see the status of your applications.
- You will receive an email confirmation after your application has been submitted. Be sure to check your spam/junk folder and add noreply@umm.edu to your contacts list to ensure you receive the email.
- On the Career Site, click on “Account Login”. Log into your account and you’ll be able to view all completed applications under the “Applicant Activity” section. You’ll also see the status of your applications.
Visit Update My Profile. Update your profile and select the arrow next to “Get our newest jobs by email”. You’ll be able to select the frequency of your alerts, job categories, and job title of the jobs that match your skills.
- You’ll be the first to know when we have new jobs available that match your interests.
- You’ll receive automatic alerts about available jobs so you will spend less time job searching.
- Being part of the Talent Network will help you stand out from other applicants.
- Receiving information about UMMS will help you stay informed and prepare you for interview questions.
- You’ll get a sense of the culture at UMMS or member organization to determine if we are a good fit for you.
A Talent Network allows interested candidates to receive job alerts and communications from UMMS regarding job opportunities, events, news and other career-related information without actually applying for a position.
No. The Talent Community is a different system that allows candidates to express an interest in UMMS and sign up for email alerts on the latest openings. If you want to apply, you’ll need to create a candidate profile and submit an application for a specific position.
