As our country responds to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), this is time for us all to pull together. At the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), we are doing our part by taking all the necessary steps to protect and care for our patients, visitors, staff and communities.
We are implementing the protocols laid out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in order to provide the best care possible for the people of Maryland and our nation. The faculty and research teams at the University of Maryland School of Medicine are serving as experts on the national response effort and at the forefront of vaccine development.
We are and will continue to commit resources to the critical work at hand. We are maximizing our capacity to protect and care for patients and communities and serving as a resource for the public and our partners in State and Federal government.
In response to circumstances resulting from COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the need to keep our employees and candidates safe and healthy, we will be implementing a new remote interview policy.
Beginning Monday, March 16th, 2020, all interviews will be conducted virtually with both recruiters and hiring managers. With your help in learning and embracing our new interview process, we will be able to maintain business operations and continue to provide a great experience for our candidates and employees.
We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we adapt to today’s current events and prioritize the safety of our employees and candidates.
Emergency Staffing Pool
In these unprecedented times, University of Maryland Medical System is taking important steps to support our patients, community and employees. In response to Governor Larry Hogan’s call for 6,000 new hospital beds to ensure Maryland is prepared and ready to treat a potential surge in patients with COVID-19, the University of Maryland Medical System is putting together an Emergency Staffing Pool.
Important Update: Thank you for your interest in supporting the health of our neighbors in Maryland by joining the One UMMS Staffing Pool. Hundreds of local people stepped up to fill these staffing needs at a critical moment for our communities as we faced the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to the dedication of these individuals, at this time, UMMS has filled its current staffing needs and is no longer accepting applications for the Staffing Pool. We will update this site with additional opportunities as they become available.
