Job Description

General Summary:

This is a grant-funded position responsible for developing and executing recruitment and enrollment strategies for the Youth Apprenticeship Program. The Outreach and Enrollment Specialist plays a key role in identifying eligible youth, promoting program awareness, and guiding participants through enrollment, particularly those from underrepresented communities.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks:

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. These are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel.

  • Design and implement outreach plans to recruit youth into apprenticeship pathways.
  • Build relationships with schools, community organizations, and workforce partners.
  • Organize and host informational sessions, job fairs, and community presentations.
  • Guide youth and families through the apprenticeship application and enrollment process.
  • Maintain accurate records for all recruitment activities and enrollment data.
  •  Coordinate with program staff to ensure seamless participant transition into training.
  •  Develop marketing and promotional materials tailored to youth and community partners.
  •  Promote inclusive access to apprenticeship programs for marginalized youth.
  •  Serve as the first point of contact for prospective participants and families.
  •  Support retention through regular follow-ups and engagement.
  •  Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

 

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Workforce Development, Social Work, Human Services, or Clinical Education (Nursing) required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in community outreach, public engagement, or youth recruitment required.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
  • 2+ years in recruitment or workforce development
  • Bilingual 
  • Familiarity with youth development or apprenticeship programs

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong public speaking and interpersonal communication skills
  • Comfort engaging with diverse youth and community audiences
  • Event coordination and community networking abilities
  • Skilled in using social media and digital tools for outreach
  • Cultural competence and commitment to equity
  • Detail-oriented and capable of tracking data and reporting outcomes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in customer service or front-line engagement
  • Commitment to workforce development mission
