Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will work under the supervision of licensed pharmacists to provide essential pharmacy services, ensuring accurate medication dispensing and exceptional patient care.

  • Process and prepare prescription orders with precise attention to detail, following established protocols and safety guidelines
  • Perform accurate data entry of patient information and prescription details into pharmacy systems
  • Compound and measure medications according to standardized formulas and procedures
  • Maintain proper inventory levels of medications and supplies
  • Operate pharmacy technology systems, including automated dispensing devices and bar-code systems
  • Assist in managing prescription insurance claims and resolving billing issues
  • Provide professional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
  • Collect and verify patient medication histories
  • Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy workspace
  • Comply with all state and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Support pharmacists in daily operations and workflow management

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Maryland Pharmacy Technician Registration
  • Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
  • Experience in specialty pharmacy services
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and order-entry software
  • Experience with automated dispensing systems and bar-code technology
  • Basic computer skills and data entry accuracy

Essential Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and following safety protocols
