We are seeking a detail-oriented Perioperative Surgical Support Technician to join our healthcare team in Baltimore. In this role, you will provide essential technical support for surgical operations, ensuring the proper preparation and maintenance of surgical equipment and supplies.
- Prepare and maintain surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies according to strict sterility protocols
- Assist in operating room setup and turnover procedures
- Monitor and maintain inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
- Perform sterilization procedures following established guidelines
- Document all equipment processing and sterilization activities
- Coordinate with surgical teams to ensure timely delivery of supplies and equipment
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations and infection control protocols
- Assist in emergency situations as needed
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Current Surgical Technology certification
- Valid CPR certification
- Sterile Processing certification preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in a surgical or healthcare setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of surgical equipment and sterilization techniques
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques and infection control procedures
- Strong understanding of operating room protocols and safety regulations
- Experience with inventory management and tracking systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment and supplies
- Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping
