What You Will Do:

UM Shore Regional Health, a member of University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), is seeking a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner to join a practice in Easton, Maryland, on a Full-Time basis. 

Under limited supervision, the Nurse Practitioner will provide palliative care services to patients with advanced diseases in the hospital, nursing home, and in the outpatient palliative care clinic.  The NP will follow established applicable nursing and medical standards, procedures and practices, and gives specific patient care directions to nursing and other support staff.

This regional health care network serving Caroline, Dorchester, Queen Anne’s and Talbot counties includes the UM Shore Medical Center at Easton, UM Shore Health Medical Center at Dorchester in Cambridge and UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown. UM Shore Regional Health, which was formed in July of 2013, connects residents and visitors to primary care and specialty physicians, emergency medical services, and a coordinated system of prevention, diagnosis and treatment.



What You Need to Be Successful:

  1. Master of Science degree with completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program required.
  2. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner required. 
  3. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse required.
  4. Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care is required.
  5. Palliative care experience preferred, not required.
  6. DEA and CDS eligible.
  7. NP will be expected to work towards a palliative care certification after starting in program.
