What You Will Do:

Reporting to the Manager, Respiratory Care this position has responsibility for the daily activities of patient care provided by department personnel. The incumbent oversees the clinical plans of care for the patient population in order to ensure that patients and families receive an optimum level of care.  The incumbent in this position is also accountable for problem resolution, orienting, and mentoring of department personnel.


  • Performs advanced clinical procedures to improve and/or measure patient’s cardio/respiratory functions
  • Provides on-site daily intermediate level operational supervision to a widely diverse staff of Respiratory Care practitioners to assure quality and efficient service
  • Initiates, discontinues, or modifies procedures and determines validity of results based upon assessment of patient’s condition, within established parameters.

What You Need to Be Successful:

  • Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR is required.
  • Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required. 
  • Valid Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required.
  • Valid Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an acute care setting, preferably in supervisory/leadership capacity is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in patient care management, successful completion of area specific training programs or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, health care personnel and the ability to lead, direct, evaluate and mentor personnel is required
