What You Will Do:

UMMS-VP of Pharmacy Services

The Vice President of Pharmacy Services is a leadership position responsible for strategic pharmacy services for the University of Maryland Medical System (“UMMS”).  

The Vice President of Pharmacy Services is working closely with the hospital – based pharmacy leaders, this leader develops strategy to ensure the delivery of the safe and efficient pharmaceutical services required to provide quality patient experiences and clinical excellence.

This position is accountable for system-wide initiatives and provides strategic guidance for the development of policies, procedures, standards and objectives for the provision of pharmaceutical care services.

What You Need to Be Successful:

-Master’s, Doctorate, or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a college or university accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) is required.  Licensure R.Ph. or Pharm.D. Degree with qualified and unrestricted license.  Maryland State Board of Pharmacy license preferred but not required

-10 years of hospital-based pharmacy experience is required. In addition, 5 years of administrative/managerial pharmacy experience is required, experience in pharmaceutical contracting, P&T Committee organization, pharmacy integration in clinical practice. Training in negotiations and communications.  Familiar with process improvement approaches and their application in clinical settings.  Leadership and communication skills proven with clinical settings.

-Completion of the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited residency program is preferred.
