What You Will Do:
Responsibility to function as a member of the sterile surgical team. Responsibility for establishing the sterile field and for maintaining the integrity, safety, and efficiency of the sterile field throughout the operation.
What You Need to Be Successful:
CPR certification within the probationary period. Diploma from an accredited surgical technology program or documentation of 2 or more years of on-the-job training is required. Certification as a surgical technologist is preferred. Ability to read, writes, and speaks English in order to follow and give instructions accurately and clearly. Ability to work autonomously and be flexible with the needs of the unit, department, and hospital. Effective verbal communication skills are required in order to work with all disciplines successfully. Presents a positive, professional image of self to coworkers and the public. Ability to coordinate eyes and hands, quickly and accurately. Must have visual and auditory acuity. Ability to manipulate small objects quickly and accurately. Knowledge of surgical anatomy, philosophy, and operative techniques relative to operative procedures in which the individual scrubs.
