What You Will Do:

Under general supervision, serves as an advanced practitioner, educator, consultant and leader in the evaluation and intervention for a specific population or skill set. The clinical specialist is recognized to have a set of clinical skills that are in the area of advanced practice as described by/or similar to the American Occupational Therapy Association: physical disabilities or pediatrics. The responsibilities will also include the establishment of a model clinical program in the specialized area that facilitates the development of high quality and cost effective patient care and guides the staff for their development and maintenance of these skills in the specialized area.



What You Need to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus five years of occupational therapist experience, or Master’s Degree, or Master's equivalent, or Doctorate of OT, required.
  • Five year minimal work experience as an Occupational Therapist and two years (minimum of 2000 hours) in the area of clinical specialty in the last five calendar years.
  • Obtain a minimum of 39 CEUs over a two year period, with at least 19 of those credits being in the specialty area.
  • Current CPR certification is required
  • Less than two years of training health professionals on Safe Patient Handling techniques preferred.
