Under limited supervision, the Lead Surgical Technologist is a multi-skilled individual who demonstrates advanced knowledge and proficient practice in their surgical subspecialties. Participates in a wide variety of clinical tasks/ procedures for the patient as a member of the patient care team. Provides any basic patient care duties and participates in tasks to assist with the progression of the patient’s plan of care within their scope of practice, as well as planning and support for specialty. Serves as a technical resource. The Lead Surgical Technologist will work collaboratively with the Service Line Coordinator of specialty. Patients served include infant through adult-older adult.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of an accredited surgical technologist school required. Minimum of six (6) months experience in specialty, directly applicable technologist experience required; one (1) year minimum preferred. BLS required. Knowledge of medical terminology. Must be able to communicate both verbal and written in English.
