What You Will Do:
The Psychiatric Occupational Therapist will render occupational therapy services to inpatients, PHP and IOP patients, planning and conducting screening/assessment, developing treatment plans, delivering or supervising the delivery of treatment intervention and education for the purpose of enhancing insight into disease; directing the patient’s participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance the physical and mental performance, learning, skill development and productivity to improve self-care, cognitive and psychosocial skills and abilities, and improve the patient’s overall functional status in the home/work/community environment, and to diminish or correct pathology. The Psychiatric Occupational Therapist will function as a multidisciplinary team member within the hospital/psychiatric units, and in interactions with other health care providers. Patients served include Adult-Geriatric.
What You Need to Be Successful:
BS in Occupational Therapy, or its equivalent required; MS degree preferred. Possesses current Maryland State license, or is eligible. One year recent experience in a clinical psychiatric setting as evidenced by academic training and clinical experience in adult psychiatric disorders required. Previous experience using a business office suite, such as Microsoft, required.
