What You Will Do:
Under limited supervision the Special Graphics Technician is responsible for performing EKGs and initiating 24 hour Holter monitor and 30-day event monitor recordings, obtaining tracings and reporting to the Cardiologist for interpretation. Under the direct supervision of a cardiologist, the technologist assists in performing exercise stress tests, preparing the patient, monitoring the patient during the procedure, and documenting events and vital signs. Maintains accurate statistical information concerning procedures performed in the department and provides this information to the department director. The Special Graphic Technician is a member of the Health care team, and has accountability to function within that team to provide patient care according to established standards. Patients served may include infant through adult-geriatrics.
What You Need to Be Successful:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred. Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care is required. One (1) year cardiology experience is preferred. Knowledge of arrhythmia detection is preferred.
