What You Will Do:

University of Maryland Medical System is currently seeking a Project Coordinator, Population Health to join our Quality Care Network. (Project Coordination experience within Healthcare, required)

General Summary

Under direct supervision prepares documents and various materials, responds to complex correspondence and telephone inquiries, maintains filing systems, and prepares basic to complex statistical data and reports.  Manages specific aspects of small to medium projects for population health, value based care efforts in the healthcare environment. 

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

  1. Responsible for specific areas of small to medium sized projects, develops timelines and check progress, may take on lead responsibility for smaller project. Assist in the creation and planning of activities.
  2. Responds to internal and external telephone calls, inquiries and visitors following established departmental procedures.   Liaises with third party service providers for the department.  Serves as a key interface with other departments to identify and resolve issues.  Determines urgency of situation when contacting/interrupting senior staff members/physicians.

 

  1. Initiates or responds to correspondence and memoranda.  Prepares presentation material as required.   Prepares and ensures accuracy of confidential documents, in accordance with department/service area procedures.
  2. Schedules and coordinates meetings, appointments, travel arrangements, conferences and training resources.   Prepare agendas and assembles background materials.  Attends meetings, prepares notes and performs required administrative follow up.  Coordinates events; organizes publicity, AV and other necessary arrangements.
  3. Compiles and reviews financial and/or statistical data for the departmental unit.   Performs bookkeeping functions or other financial information monitoring.  Monitors budget, expense account and special funds, assists with projections and preparation of budgetary recommendations, identifies and resolve anomalies.  May analyze small data sets.
  4. Understands and articulates the project's business value and associated metrics.
  5. Provides assistance and recommendations with quality assurance tools and processes.  Seek an understanding of project interdependencies in order to effectively work with others on potential impacts.
  6. Build effective networks of internal and external subject matter expert contacts including managers.
  7. Monitors and maintains staff schedules; reviews and verifies employee records, transfers payroll hours as directed and informs Manager of any discrepancies.  Ensures employee personnel files and paperwork is completed as required.

 

 

    



What You Need to Be Successful:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration or related field from which comparable knowledge and abilities have been acquired.
  2. One year of project coordination experience in service environment is required.  Healthcare experience is desired.

  1. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary in order to work with all levels within the organization, and produce clear and concise reports of relatively complicated issues.
  2. Excellent organizational skills with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work
  3. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments
  4. Ability to remain professional when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Ability to prioritize and schedule the work to be completed by a work team or project task force
  6. Proficiency in the use of personal computers and related peripheral equipment is required.  Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and project management tools is required.
  7. Ability to be flexible in adapting to changes in priorities, assignments, and other interruptions, which may impact pre-established timelines and courses of action for completing projects and assignments.
