What You Will Do:
UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center is currently seeking a Psychotherapist (LCSW-C, LCPC) to joint our Psychiatry department.
The Patient Care Clinician – Psychotherapist under limited supervision is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for services given to a group of patients for a designated time frame. The clinician interprets and performs complex patient care procedures specific to their area of expertise. Clinicians are members of the Care Team and Support Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the plan of care. The Psychotherapist provides care to patients via therapeutic use of self, effective use of the environment/technology, and collaborating with other healthcare team members, according to established clinical standards. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to; initial assessment, treatment planning, individual, group and/or family therapy as indicated and information and referral to patients 18 and older (who are graduated from high school). Care is provided in a collaborative manner with team Psychiatrist, other team psychotherapists, the Department of Psychiatry in particular and other services of BWMC as needed. Patients served include Adult through Adult-Geriatric.
What You Need to Be Successful:
Minimum of a Master’s degree from accredited school of Social Work or minimum of a Master’s Degree in related behavioral health field.
Current advanced licensure in good standing in the State of Maryland (e.g. LCSW-C, LCPC, Ph.D., Psy. D.),
3-5 years experience of providing psychotherapy services and sound knowledge of DSM-IV-TR are required.
Previous hospital based psychiatric services experience preferred.
Proficient use of Microsoft Windows and related applications required.
