What You Will Do:

Working under the limited supervision of the Vice President and other executive leaders, the Director, Performance Innovation leads the Transformation office, the entity charged with facilitating operational performance improvement across the Medical Center. The Director of the Center coordinates with other groups involved with quality, safety and financial performance improvement to build a culture that fosters continuous improvements at all levels.

What You Need to Be Successful:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field required. (Required)
  • 3-5 years of experience in the field of hospital based performance improvement. (Required)
  • 2 years of supervisory experience required.



  • Lean or TPS (Required)
  • Lean / Six Sigma Black Belt (Required)

Experience and Skills

  • Demonstrated leadership ability to think strategically while applying structured continuous improvement/change management methods, particularly within the context of rapid cycle performance improvement.
  • Successful track record as a change agent who is adept in working continuous improvement issues across multiple departments and organizational cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines, managing upward as well as across organizational teams.
  • Ability to influence and coach for results at all organizational levels; ability to constructively engage, negotiate, resolve conflict and influence leaders; ability to build strong counseling relationships with senior leaders.
  • Ability to present findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Expert knowledge based on training and practice of performance improvement methods including lean, six sigma, and human factors engineering.
  • Advanced business acumen with operational and business level problem solving ability.
  • Self-confident, flexible, with a positive attitude and demonstrated strong influencing skills.
