What You Will Do:

Job Summary
The support mechanic performs repairs and maintenance on various equipment and facilities throughout the
organization.

PREVENTATIVE AND CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE:

  • Performs 95% of assigned PM's every month on equipment such as AHU's, electrical panels, dietary and kitchen equipment, steam stations, closed loops, compressors, andpumps.
  • Performs all corrective repairs in a timely manner and correctly the first time.
  • Looks for cost savings through second source vendors.
  • Focuses work towards customer satisfaction, taking the time to assess customer needs and making self available for questions and advice.
  • Works independently on high level repairs and preventative maintenance, when help is needed, seeks a resource to provide necessary knowledge.
  • Demonstrates competency for resetting substations in an emergency during a power loss as well as knowledge to be able to transfer RO/DI water system into bypass when required.


TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in the orientation and cross training of other zone mechanics. 
  • Helps to cross-train other Facilities Department personnel. Makes self available for questions and advice to Zone mechanics. 
  • Works to cross train and assist Zone mechanics w/ building system repairs and PM tasks.


What You Need to Be Successful:

Education

  • Vocational / Technical Degree (Required)
  • 2 year / Associate's Degree (Preferred)

Certification / Licensure / Registration

  • HVAC, Electrician or other trade license (Preferred)

Experience and Skills

  • 2 - 4 years experience in a maintenance position (Required)
  • 2 - 4 years Specialized area of knowledge (trade) and Reclaim refrigerant Welding (Preferred)
  • 6 - 9 years experience (Preferred)
