CLINICAL: Provides and performs analytical testing and/or procedures that require independent judgment. Communicates critical values in accordance with departmental policy. Recognizes problems and abnormal results and takes appropriate action in accordance with departmental policy. Evaluates acceptability and integrity of specimens for analysis.

OPERATES AND MAINTAINS CURRENT INSTRUMENTATION.: Performs all routine maintenance procedures. Recognizes instrument problems and malfunctions and implements corrective actions. Communicates instrumentation status to appropriate personnel including on-coming shifts. Monitors inventory levels and informs appropriate person of supply status.
PERFORMS CLINICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS TO ASSIST SUPERVISORS OPERATIONALLY.: In the absence of a Supervisor/Lead, performs weekend QC reviews, makes scheduling changes/adjustments as necessary. Actively participates in the planning of staff and student in-services, training, and orientation. Helps Supervisors/Leads with organization and preparation of content of training. Can assist with budget reports, QC reports, and other operational duties if so required. Actively participates in developing new procedures and selecting new instrumentation. Is a super user and content expert in at least two (2) workstations of the laboratory.
* 4 year / Bachelor's Degree: Medical Technology (Required)

*0 - 1 year Hospital based Medical Technology experience (Required)
2 - 4 years Hospital based Medical Technology experience (Preferred)
