What you will do:
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is a member of the leadership team for their assigned customer group, and located onsite at the University of Maryland Medical Center University Campus. As a part of a strategic HR office, the HRBP acts as partner to their customers through advising, counseling, and program development.
Consults with clients to develop and implement effective human resources programs, policies and initiatives designed to sustain a positive work environment;
Participates as an active and involved partner in the development and execution of client-specific and organizational business plans and strategies;
Actively support the human resources departmental objectives by collaborating with other staff, including: specialists in functional areas of the department and specialists in the UMMS HR Shared Services department;
Acts as the primary point of service contact for the leadership groups and employees by interpreting human resources policies, procedures, and practices;
Consults, coaches, and trains leaders on how to achieve operational and strategic objectives consistent with human resources objectives for the organization;
May perform other related duties at the assigned affiliate hospital.
What You Need to Be Successful:
Three years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience, preferably in employee and labor relations;
B.A. or B.S. degree, in Human Resources, Organizational Development or another related discipline is required;
Prior HR experience in healthcare or other human service organizations strongly preferred;
Master’s degree in Business, H.R. or Organizational Design/Development preferred;
Professional certification, either as a PHR (Professional in Human Resources) or SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources), or some equivalent certification in a related human resources field preferred.
