What You Will Do:




Responsible for the order entry of prescriptions, preparation of intravenous solutions, disposable supplies and related activities under the direction of a pharmacist for intravenous homecare patients.





Prepare and compound sterile parenteral/enteral pharmaceutical and chemotherapeutic agents under pharmacist's supervision, demonstrating a commitment to excellence.


Perform accurate prescription order entry processes that are held for pharmacist’s review and authorization.


Initiate and complete delivery forms.


Lead for Warehouse day to day operations.  This includes picking of supplies and coordinating deliveries.  Maintains inventory of supplies.


Attend and participate in all patient care meetings and conferences.


Prepare, record and monitor results for pharmaceutical quality assurance testing.


Assist in maintaining the pharmacy facility in adherence to Policy and Procedures for achievement of excellent audit results.


Responsible for knowing and adhering to Policy and Procedures governing pharmacy operations.


Assist pharmacist(s) in inventory procedures including record keeping and ordering.


Log and shelve incoming inventory.


Organize assigned work load to best facilitate its accomplishment.                       


Maintain the confidentiality of patients and their personal information at all times

What You Need to Be Successful:



Act as a delivery representative as found necessary by the pharmacist on duty.


Assist the pharmacists, when requested, in all duties and functions according to standard practices of the profession and state, federal and other applicable laws.


Perform other tasks as requested by pharmacists on duty and supervisor.





Minimum of one year experience in pharmacy preparations for parenteral/enterals, intravenous antibiotics and chemotherapeutic agents.


Must have passed a certification examination offered by a nationally recognized program.


 Must be registered with the State of Maryland as a pharmacy technician

Knowledge of basic drug terminology, pharmaceutical evaluation, pharmacology and pharmaceutical law.


Good verbal and written communication skills, with computer experience preferred.


Pharmaceutical quality assurance experience with parenteral products.


Excellent aseptic technique must be demonstrated on an ongoing basis.


Ability to work in a team environment and cooperate with all departments within the home infusion center
