What You Will Do:
Under the supervision of the Pathologist and the Supervisor of Histopathology, performs collection and testing of patient specimens from surgery and autopsy. This position requires practical as well as theoretical knowledge of test methodologies which assist the Medical Staff in the diagnosis and management of disease and mental disorders. Patient contact is limited to specimens from patients in age groups from infants to adult - geriatric.
What You Need to Be Successful:
Successful completion of CAHEA accredited Histotechnology program, OR Associate degree or at least 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university in biology, AND one year full time acceptable experience in Histopathology, OR HT (ASCP) registered or eligible. Knowledge of various laboratory instrumentation required. Proficient communication skills required. Ability to read and perform basic mathematical calculations. Prior laboratory experience is preferred.
