What You Will Do:

Job Summary

  1. The Supervisor of Outreach acts as the primary laboratory outreach operations resource and representative.
  2. This position is responsible for all aspects of specimen collection, specimen processing at patient service centers/draw sites and integration of the efforts with efficient network/system wide courier operations between patient service center/draw sites.

Experience and Skills

  1. Experience in an administrative position in a clinical laboratory or other healthcare customer service environment, with demonstrated skills and competence in leadership and organizing work-flow.

  1.  Experience is customer services and problem resolution.

-and-

 

  1. Three (3) to five (5) years full time (2080 hours per year) experience in a hospital setting with demonstrated competency in performing the full range of specimen collections, client services management, and strong interpersonal skills.
  2. Four (4) to six (6) years full-time working with/and, or in a hospital laboratory specimen processing operation, and laboratory outreach operations as they pertain to physician offices, patient service centers, and specimen collection sites/draw sites.
  3. Knowledge level of laboratory terminology to effectively communicate important patient care data.
  4. Must be able to communicate with patients, physicians, hospital staff and the general public in an effective, courteous, and professional manner.
  5. Knowledge of word processing and use of personnel computers and hospital information systems required.
  6. Ability to work in harmony with personnel to build team driven customer service.
  7. Demonstrate comprehension, skill and command of the oral and written English language.
  8. Experience in client services, pre-analytical phases of patient testing, specimen accessioning and distribution, quality assurance, quality improvement and bench marking practices. 
  9. Supervisory experience of three years (3) preferred.
  10. Demonstrate effective management skills, interpersonal skills and organizational skills. 
  11. Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  12. Above average skills in the use of MSWord and MS Excel.
  13. Cerner and EPIC experience a plus.

 



What You Need to Be Successful:

Education

  • * High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • * Phlebotomy Certification (Required)
  • 2 year / Associate's Degree (Preferred)
  • 4 year / Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
  • Certification / Licensure / Registration
  • Phlebotomy Certification
