What You Will Do:

University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is currently seeking a Weekend (7:30a-4p) Nuclear Med Technologist!

Under general supervision, perform routine and specialty diagnostic Nuclear Medicine studies following established protocols and document appropriately. Assist Nuclear Medicine physicians in preparing and administering therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals to patients. Perform diversified diagnostic procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals; in vivo and in vitro detection and measurement of radioactivity to assist the nuclear medicine physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. May function as a team leader in various areas of specialty or on assigned shifts.

What You Need to Be Successful:

Graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Nuclear Medicine Technology, or equivalent. Licensure in the state of Maryland as a Nuclear Medical Technologist and registered by CNMTB or ARRT(N) is required. 

Bachelor’s degree in a science or related field is preferred.

CPR certification is required.

Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of nuclear medicine and equipment operations, including radiation safety procedures. Knowledge of clinical applications and operation of nuclear imaging computer systems; gamma cameras; counting equipment such as well counters, thyroid probes, dose calibrators; and radiation survey equipment.

Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary in order to work successfully with various medical and nursing personnel as well as patients, and to accurately complete document studies.

Ability to perform the responsibilities of the position successfully under stress and emergency situations.

Ability to give and follow written and oral instructions; record and document statistical information from studies; and exercise analytical judgment in work environment and patient care.
