ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Maintains communication with laboratory management regarding quality assurance problems, needs of phlebotomy, client services and central processing staff.
Oversees all client service, phlebotomy, central processing and laboratory assistant staff and ensures that staff is trained and competent to perform their duties.
Performs all supervisory duties including daily oversight, corrective action, performance appraisals, scheduling and other employee related activities.
Responsible for ensuring that all sections have up-to-date and appropriate policies and procedures, and all regulatory needs are met (CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission and others).
Ensures that all phlebotomy is performed on time and in a manner that enhances patient satisfaction.
Ensures follow-up on client's billing questions.
Develops and monitors a quality assurance program to monitor service to patients and clients.
Works closely with the Clinical Specialist for Outreach to ensure a high level of client satisfaction, accurate and appropriate billing claims, and other Outreach-related concerns.
Ensures adequate supplies are available for hospital and client needs.
Assists in ensuring that all billing functions performed by Customer Service are performed in an accurate and timely manner.
Capable of performing or training others to perform all functions within the scope of their responsibility.
