Our General Operating Room is a 52,000 square foot operating facility comprised of 22 operating rooms for adult and pediatric patients, and two additional minor procedure rooms. It is supported by a 28 bed PACU with an 8 bed pre-op area. This RN Sr Clinical Nurse I role is designed for the nurse who has achieved expertise and leadership in the clinical and professional role, within the unit and beyond. He/she leads and evaluates evidence based practice, actively participates and/or leads organizational initiatives, mentors and coaches nurses and other disciplines, exemplifies the role of the professional nurses and demonstrates active involvement in clinical and professional nursing beyond the walls of the unit and/or organization. Takes a leadership role in overall design and implementation of a patient centered care delivery system that facilitates achievement of patient outcomes, supports continuity of care and patient flow between care delivery sites, and enhances patient and care giver satisfaction. Monitors the quality and cost effectiveness of nursing practice and governance systems at the unit level. Is accountable for patients and families and for the processes and outcomes of care during an episode of care. Is accountable to peers for the advancement of group practice on the unit, and to the nurse manager for the totality of work performance.

Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.
Bachelor's Degree (BSN required).
Current CPR certification required.
Relevant clinical work experience related to practice on the unit.
Maintenance of 20 contact hours of education every two years.
Member of a professional organization.
