We are looking for an Experienced Pediatrics Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Express Care / Transport Department! **requires 2 years of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience**
The University of Maryland operates a busy critical care and interfacility transport service. ExpressCare is comprised of critical care personnel, specialty care paramedics, transport nurses, and communication staff. A primary mission of ExpressCare is to provide safe and effective transport for patients requiring a higher or more sophisticated level of in-hospital care. ExpressCare crews are capable of the following specialty transports:
The Maryland ExpressCare Transfer/Communications Center provides 24/7 access to University of Maryland School of Medicine attending physicians, who provide expert consultation within minutes of your call. The Communications Center also coordinates transport services to the University of Maryland Medical Center, and works closely with the Medical Center's Patient Placement Center to facilitate the admission process.
Maryland ExpressCare for Kids was the first pediatric transport service. The transport team consists of pediatric nurses with at least 2 years of critical care experience, paramedics and emergency medical technicians, who take direction for each patient transport from the attending physician in the pediatric intensive care unit. The transport services use special equipment designed for pediatric patients to monitor and maintain vital support measures during transport.

What You Need to Be Successful:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Bachelor’s of Science Nursing (BSN)
Current licensure in the State of Maryland as a Registered Nurse.
Currency in the following certifications required: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Critical Care Nurse Certification (CCRN); and annual Infection Control, Fire Safety, and TB training.
Critical Care Nurse Certification (CCRN) is required or must be obtained within one year of employment. Management may grant a six-month extension for special circumstances.
