What You Will Do:

University of Maryland Medical System is currently seeking a Sr Health Policy Analyst to join our Population Health department, located in Linthicum, MD.

General Summary
The Senior Health Policy Analyst informs the leadership of the University of Maryland Quality Care Network and Population Health Services Organization on legal, policy, and regulatory issues from federal and state agencies that may impact the operations of the organization.  The Senior Health Policy Analyst is also responsible for staying informed on current trends in value based contracting nationally and locally.

 Responsibilities and Tasks

  1. Provide evaluation, analysis, and research support on CMS or State Medicaid initiatives, including proposed policy changes or directives. 
  2. Provide evaluation, analysis, and research support on HSCRC or MHCC initiatives, including proposed policy changes or directives. 
  3. Develop policy briefs and position papers on priority issues.
  4. Attend meetings of State and Federal regulatory and policy-making entities
  5. Summarize current policy proposals from Federal and State agencies that may impact the University of Maryland Quality Care Network (UMQCN) and University of Maryland Medical System
  6. Keep informed of changes in value-based contracting vehicles being utilized nationally and locally by commercial and government payers
  7. Prepare power point presentations and other briefing documents for UMQCN Board and Committee meetings
  8. Research emerging and innovative care models

 



What You Need to Be Successful:

  1. A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field is required.
  2. 5 years’ experience in health care policy analysis is required.
