The University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center and one of the top cancer treatment and research centers in the country. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), and in accordance with the nursing care plan, the PCT performs delegated competency validated patient care functions and applies technical skills of a limited uncomplicated nature. Duties include performing: EKG's, Tracheal suctioning, Tube feedings (NG/GT), Urinary catheter insertion, Blood draws (preferred),I.V. insertions (preferred)

What You Need to Be Successful:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  2. Maryland Nursing Assistant Certification required  
  3. Completion of one of the following training programs:  hospital based program, community college, Emergency Medical Technician, Medical Corpsmen
  4. Employees with work experience that provide on the job training equivalent to the above programs can be considered as a substitute to a formal PCT training program 
  5. Minimum of one year of recent, direct patient care experience required
  6. Current CPR certification is required
