University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is currently seeking a Cardiac Sonographer!

As a Cardiac Sonographer in our Heart Center you will perform cardiac diagnostic ultrasound procedures at a technical level, providing identification of cardiac structures, recognition of abnormalities and documentation for later clinical interpretation. You will also work closely with referring doctors to keep them abreast of each patient's treatment and progress.

What You Need to Be Successful:

Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively are necessary to work with patients, families and all levels of medical and nursing personnel. Proficient knowledge and understanding of anatomy, specific disease entities in the field of cardiology/echocardiology and pattern recognition is a must. Registered or eligible for registry as a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers is required. One year experience performing echocardiography testing/procedures, or equivalent, and CPR Certification are required.
