What You Will Do:

Registered Nurse (RN) Stroke Coordinator/Quality Improvement - PRN/Days - UM BWMC

Position Highlights

  • PRN position with 8 hours per week on average/32 hours per month

  • Primarily day shift, but could be evenings, nights, weekends if staff education is needed

  • Provides schedule flexibility

  • Educates staff and patients

  • Complete data abstracting

  • Collaborate with 2 stroke coordinators, nurse managers, providers and floor nurses across multiple units

  • Dedicated nursing team 

  • Help work toward Primary Stroke Center Certification

  • Ability to work independently and work with a wide variety of patients

What You Need to Be Successful:

 

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland

  • BSN degree required, MSN preferred

  • Certified Stroke Nurse certification preferred

  • 2-3 years experience in Performance Improvement or Stroke Coordinator position. comprehensive knowledge of regulatory, accrediting and Primary Stroke Center designation requirements. 

  • 3-5 years of clinical experience in the care of the Medical Surgical or stroke patients, computer skills, knowledge of research and statistical methods are necessary

  • Excellent writing skills and knowledge of correct business English required

  • Strong organization skills, ability to perform multiple tasks required

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with physicians, hospital personnel and external agencies required

  • Strong problem-solving skills required

  • Experience with automated databases required

  • Must be a self-starter with critical thinking skills
