What You Will Do:
Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), and in accordance with the nursing care plan, the PCT performs delegated competency validated patient care functions and applies technical skills of a limited uncomplicated nature. Duties include perfprming: EKG's, Tracheal suctioning,Tube feedings (NG/GT),Urinary catheter insertion,Blood draws (preferred),I.V. insertions (preferred)
What You Need to Be Successful:
High school diploma or state High School Equivalency Certificate (GED) State certification as a Nursing Assistant Completion of one of the following: PCT course from community College or hospital based program, EMT or Medical Corpsmen. Employees with work experience that provide on the job training equivalent to the above program can be considered as a substitute to a formal PCT training program Minimum one year of recent, direct patient care experience required.
