The Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine Center specializes in treating:
Diabetic foot ulcers
Arterial ulcers - occurs when plaque builds up in the arteries reducing the amount of blood delivered to the body.
Venous ulcers - develop when blood pools in the lower leg veins leading to tissue breakdown. This pooling problem is usually a result of the veins' inability to move blood back toward the heart.
Pressure sores/ulcers - also known as bed sores. These sores are injuries to the skin and underlying tissue usually caused by unrelieved pressure.
Bone infections (osteomyelitis)
Gangrene - dead tissue caused by an infection or lack of blood flow.
Soft tissue infections
The University of Maryland Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology at UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center uses a multidisciplinary approach to help patients control their blood sugar level, optimize their quality of life and prevent or minimize the complications of diabetes. The center's team includes endocrinologists, certified diabetes educators and nutritionists.
The Manager of Operations is responsible for the operations of the BWMC Wound Center and Diabetes Center including supervision of staff; broad oversight of daily operations, revenue, and expenses.
The Manager of Operations will have oversight of staff, operations, and work with the providers to deliver the best possible care for our patients.

-Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or a related field required. -Master's degree preferred. In lieu of degree, 10 years of experience working in healthcare operations is required. -Five (5) years health care management experience required. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
