What You Will Do:
Under general supervision, performs in a lead worker capacity over occupational therapy on the unit, assuring the delivery of occupational therapy services in accordance with the principles and practices of occupational therapy.
What You Need to Be Successful:
Current certification as an Occupational Therapist by the NBCOT. A minimum of three years full time experience as a licensed occupational therapist is required. Proficient knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practice techniques. General knowledge of orthopedics, plastics, pediatrics, neurology, psychology, psychiatry, anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, general medicine and the occupational therapy treatment implications of each. Ability to oversee and direct the work of staff occupational therapists and support staff, assign work priorities, audit work quality, orient and train, and assist in implementing corrective action, appropriately, with little direction. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are required in order to work with patients, therapists, medical and nursing staff successfully and to document patient progress, quality assurance activities.
