University of Maryland Medical Solutions is a licensed and growing HME/DME supplier, wholly owned and operated by UM St. Joseph Medical Center. Our business is expanding and we are seeking a talented Intake/Billing Representative to support our business by communicating with patients and their insurance companies to determine appropriate billing/financial expectations .Your main accountabilities will be: Perform data entry and customer service functions associated with the sale, rental, and delivery of orthopedic bracing products and accessories. Primarily enter patient and insurance information into Brightree system to create sales orders, and communicate with patients and their insurance companies as needed to ensure smooth product delivery and billing/collections process. Job Responsibilities: • Ensure patient demographics and insurance information are entered into EMR system (Brightree) quickly and accurately. • Communicate with patients and their insurance companies, regarding coverage, pre-authorization, patient responsibility, payment arrangements, etc. • Complete patient charts, and scan necessary documentation into EMR system (Brightree). • Partner with practitioners, technicians, and front office staff to ensure accurate and consistent documentation for patient record and billing purposes. • Initiate and complete follow up communication with patients as necessary. • Assist with accounts receivable activities, such as preparing deposits, payment posting/application, closing out invoices, and updating patient accounts. • Assist with preparing, organizing, and mailing claims and patient invoices. • Other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Be Successful:
• High school diploma or GED/equivalent required. • Prior experience in medical intake/billing required. • Experience in DME industry with knowledge of orthotic braces preferred
